Packlist and important notes for all tours 

Packlist – approved by our horses - and equipment hire

Important items to pack in your personal luggage - a horse-friendly recommendation for all tours in Tusheti and Vashlovani. Our horses kindly request not to exceed the 15kg luggage limit in case you booked packhorses.
We will provide you with a pack- and FAQ-list on booking.

In case you wish to hire equipment (tent, sleeping bag, thermal mat), Soso himself has got limited number of tents and thermal mats for hire.

Transport to Tusheti and Vashlovani

Getting to Tusheti

“Marshrutka” (Georgian shared taxi service, microbus) from Tbilisi to Kvemo Alvani (14 GEL), departs from Tbilisi Ortachala Busstation (upper level) at 9.00, 13.40, 16.20 or you take a  taxi from Tbilisi to Kvemo Alvani about 200 GEL,  which takes about 2,5 h. 

From Kvemo Alvani centre with shared jeep or shared delika (offroad transportation) ca. 100 GEL per person (payable directly to the driver) to Omalo or Kumelaurta (4 km before Omalo); it takes approx. 4 h. Soso can place a reservation with a driver. Departure shall take place around 12 o’clock noon from Kvemo Alvani.

 

Getting to Vashlovani

Marschrutka from Tbilisi to Dedoplistskaro leaves from Tbilisi Isani Metro-Station (ca. 2,5 h, 10 GEL) or taxi (around 200 GEL). Marschrutkas operate between 8.00 and 17.00 o’clock. Last Marschrutka leaves Dedoplistskaro at 17.00 o’clock for Tbilisi. Pick up by Soso in Dedoplistskaro and transportation (partially offroad) to the farm approx. 45 minutes (200 Lari roundtrip).

Georgia is safe and open for traveling. Foreign visitors can freely enter Georgia with serveral flights.

Direct flights with Georgian Airways are departing from numerous European cities. 

 

We recommend flying into Tbilisi, as it is closer to the final destination than the airport in Kutaisi.

 

Low-cost airlines WizzAir flys to Kutaisi (approx. 3,5 - 4 hours westwards from Tbilisi) and Ryanair to Tbilisi.
